Via usarugby.org BOULDER, Colo. – Tickets for Atlanta 7s – the U.S. leg of the 2014-15 IRB Women’s Sevens World Series – will go on sale during the Women’s Premier League National Championship in Marietta, Ga., the weekend of Nov. 7-9. Fans should expect a great atmosphere and more thrilling action.
Life University is set to host the WPL National Championship, which sees eight elite women’s rugby clubs compete in semifinals and finals over the course of the three-day weekend.
Some of the athletes featuring in teams such as Glendale Raptors, San Diego Surfers, and Twin Cities Amazons – last year’s WPL Champion – may join the Women’s Eagles Sevens as they prepare to challenge for the Olympic podium. Atlanta 7s returns to Fifth Third Bank Stadium at Kennesaw State University for the second consecutive year. Twelve of the best teams vying for a spot at the Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games – the first to include Rugby Sevens on the Games Program – will take to the pitch in Georgia in hopes of qualifying.
Tickets for Atlanta 7s, held March 14-15, 2015, begin at $12 for a single day and can be purchased through Ticket Alternative. Two-day passes are also available at $20 and $35 depending on seating choice.
“We are excited to welcome top-level women’s sevens rugby back to Kennesaw State University’s Fifth Third Bank Stadium again next year,” USA Rugby International Events Director Kellie Cavalier said. “Fans should expect a great atmosphere and more thrilling action.” Fans in attendance will be able to dive into cultures from around the world and celebrate the global nature of rugby with the international festival along the concourse of Fifth Third Bank Stadium, which will be back again in 2015.
